At SFRC, my duties were to work with farmers in accomplishing the following objectives:
Educating farmers by providing
different education resources like factsheets, educational CD's, video
on horticultural production, organic farming practices sustainable
farming system and integrated pest management.
Conducting workshops on different types of budding, grafting, and pruning techniques.
Conducting farm demonstration on Pre and
Post management practices like seed treatment, weed management,
application of fertilizers, foliar sprays and packing practices of
Encouraging organic cropping system in small and large scale production.
Conducting workshops on agroforestry and forestry production.
Organizing farm demonstration on various
topics related to soil management like, soil nutrient evaluation, soil
improving practices, and sustainable soil management.
Implementing workshop on soil fertility, soil erosion and soil testing.
Providing guidelines for nutrients and fertilizer management and focusing on organic fertilizer resources.
Establishing online education resource center to the farmers.
Conducting and sharing training
sessions on Facebook, Skype, and Podcasts to Socially Disadvantaged
Farmers and Ranchers (SDFRs).
