Academic merit, leadership potential, and evidence of responsible citizenship are the primary criteria for selection. Applicant must write a brief essay stating why he/she has chosen to study Planning and describe the contribution they hope to make to the profession. Students can apply for the scholarship in their senior year of high school, if they have committed to study planning at Alabama A&M or with their first year of study after declaring Urban Planning as their academic major.
