Center for Distance Education & eLearning (CDEeL)

New online degree programs!

AAMU's Center for Distance Education and e-Learning is very busy enhancing its growing e-learning program for use by traditional and nontraditional AAMU learners both on and off campus. We were excited to share the news that AAMU's first completely online degree program was officially launched just in time for Spring 2013 enrollment! The Bachelor of Science in Management is perfect for students who want an all-online degree program which ensures that the entire curriculum—including general education requirements and electives—can be accessed and completed from anywhere in the world!

We are now enrolling students in the Master in Educational Leadership (K–12). We have six more degree programs in the development pipeline! Anyone interested in our online degree programs can check our program at the AAMU-Online Portal

The CDEeL's two-fold objective is to increase both number and quality of both online courses and the resources needed for faculty course developers to meet that goal. With a full slate of training and workshops running throughout the year, there are myriad opportunities for faculty, staff and students alike to delve into and explore the exciting world of e-learning!

Our unique online course certification program assesses the technical, logistical and pedagogical quality of online course curriculum developed by faculty in all areas of academic study. In AAMU's certification program model, faculty peer reviewer/mentors provide support, guidance and incremental formative assessment of the online course being developed prior to its final assessment for certification by CDEeL staff. Faculty peer reviewers/mentors receive specialized training and opportunities for development, opportunities for beta-testing software and hardware and prioritized assessments in the certification process.

We offer a full slate of face-to-face and online learning opportunities through the academic and fiscal year. In addition to scheduled group learning opportunities, Tess Beebe Olten and Everett Alexander are available for departmental, team or one-on-one consultations and professional development on all topics related to e-learning and academic technology.

Finally, the CDEeL provides our e-Bulldog community with an AAMU-Online student HelpDesk. Our graduate assistants are dedicated to assisting the distance learner with navigating all aspects of the AAMU experience for e-Bulldogs around the world who are unable to visit campus. Whether there are questions about finding financial aid or using the Learning Resource Center's online resources, our staff members are on hand to direct the distance learner to the resources they need as quickly as possible.
