AAMU is an institution in constant motion. Its streets are bursting at the seams with bright, young talent, innovative thinkers and diverse faculty and staff. For nearly 140 years, it has been molded by the dreams and aspirations of all who traverse its hilly terrain.
Not only have supporters from outside of the campus been anxious to invest in its pioneering promise, but so have students, faculty and staff. For decades, industry and governmental agencies have helped to fund many of AAMU’s programs.
But no giving sector is without its cycles.
State and federal funding decreases, and even industry cuts back from time to time. Therefore, AAMU seeks to engage a broad constituency in its fundraising efforts. Thus, philanthropic support—which can take the form of money, talent and time—comes from a variety of public and private sources.
