Donate NowThe Marketing, Communication, and Advancement (MCA) Division is a liaison between the University and its many public audiences, partners, and stakeholders. The division manages relationships with AAMU's community stakeholders, alumni, corporations, private foundations, civic organizations, media, and other constituents.  MCA includes the following departments:  development, marketing & public relations, alumni affairs, and electronic media communications (radio/television stations).  This division is directly responsible for enhancing the University’s image, recognition, and engagement through expanded outreach to external constituents.  MCA also strives to secure the financial future of the institution via external partnerships.  The office is located in 309 Patton Hall.

  • Development

    The Office of Development is responsible for building relationships with alumni and friends of Alabama A&M University.  The development office cultivates and solicits alumni, individuals, corporations, and private foundations to provide sustainable fiscal support for the University.  In development, our goal is simply to secure the University’s financial future via tax-deductible contributions.  Development provides alumni and friends with numerous opportunities to support the institution annually.  Whether advocating for student scholarships, facility improvements, academic support, student services, or athletics, development provides their constituents boundless opportunities to assist the institution.

  • Marketing and Public Relations

    Sharing Alabama A&M's stories — from introducing inspirational people to spotlighting innovative programs — takes talent. Our Office of Marketing & Public Relations is responsible for the institution’s brand and communication strategies to and between various constituents. Our team of professional staff are committed to elevating the AAMU brand while telling the University's story and celebrating its people.

    Public Relations
    The public relations team is responsible for campus news, social and digital media, marketing, and advertising. We assist with drafting and distributing AAMU press releases, announcements, media alerts, e-blasts and announcements. Our staff stand ready to assist and advise all members of the university community. There are several ways to engage with the PR team.     Media Relations
    The media relations team serves as a liaison between the media and AAMU spokespeople. We are responsible for issues management and crisis communications, producing releases and other materials for the news media, managing University media availabilities/press conferences, and responding to media requests. Whether you’re a reporter who needs help with a story or someone at AAMU with a story to tell, we look forward to assisting you.

    Councill Collective
    Our team of student content creators serve in various roles (graphic design, photography, videography, social media) to assist with the constant development of the University's presence in the digital space.

  • Electronic Media Communications

    Electronica Media Communications is comprised of the official radio and television stations of Alabama A&M University, WJAB 90.9 FM, and WJAB-TV.  WJAB 90.9 FM is a 100,000 kilowatt station and home to the Tennessee Valley’s source of jazz, blues, and gospel music.  WJAB 90.9 FM is a public broadcasting station.

    WJAB-TV provides campus news, information, and other broadcasting to students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community.  WJAB-TV is home to FrontPage, the official news program of Alabama A&M University.

  • Alumni Relations
    Office of Alumni Affairs works constantly to keep alumni, friends, and the community engaged with the University. It also nurtures and maintains a productive relationship with the Alabama A&M University Alumni Association, Inc.  Stay connected with the Office of Alumni Affairs as it continues its noble mission.  Normalites and supporters throughout the world are encouraged to become involved by giving their time and talents to the University they love.
