WJAB-FM 90.9 is a public radio station licensed to Alabama A. & M. University under the guidance of the Alabama A. & M. University Board of Trustees.  The station is 100,000 watts and has been in existence since 1991.

90.9 WJAB-FM includes traditional and contemporary Jazz, Blues and Gospel.  There are a number of specialty shows that highlight music from around the world and encourage the listeners to broaden their horizons and appreciation for other cultures.  WJAB-FM can be heard twenty four hours and seven days a week with one of the most powerful signals in the Tennessee Valley.

WJAB carries National Public Radio news and local news with Erica Fox on the hour.  Morning Edition and All Things Considered from NPR are also a part of WJAB's daily programming line-up.  Local sports with Ike Rooks, "The Dean of Alabama A&M University sports", public affairs programs and regular University specials are also a part of the WJAB format.

WJAB is particularly proud to provide educational opportunities and internships to students at Alabama A&M University.  Since 1970 Alabama A&M University has produced outstanding students who are employed with many local, regional and national television and radio networks and affiliates.

WJAB is a proud member of the Corporation of Public Broadcasting, the African-American Public Radio Consortium, the Alabama Broadcasters Association, the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Federation of Community Broadcasters.
