The Tennessee Valley, state, region and world are better places because of the numerous contributions of the students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, trustees and friends of Alabama A&M University.  Similarly, the University is positively impacted by the support of the constituencies, who significantly assist the institution in the furtherance of its land-grant mission.

Resolutions are but one of the ways through which the University recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to the AAMU family.  MPR will prepare resolutions at the requests of the President, a Cabinet member, the Director of Alumni Affairs and/or the President of the AAMU National Alumni Association.

Requestors typically play some role in providing the needed biographical or supporting documentation.  Completed documents are returned to the requesting unit for mailing or presentation.  Example:  A long-time employee in the unit of Business and Finance will retire soon.  The VP for Business and Finance makes the request, the resolution is prepared and submitted to the VP.  If the President is present at the given event, he/she may present the resolution.  Otherwise, the requestor or designee may present the resolution.  Framing is the responsibility of the requesting unit.

To submit resolution requests, contact the Office at (256) 372-5607.
