Departmental Scholarships

Scholarships can help a lot to offset your college tuition. Here are some scholarships offered to AAMU students in specific academic departments or programs.

  • ​Performance Music Scholarships

  • Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps Scholarship (ROTC)

    Awards are awarded on a competitive basis and are available for four, three and two years. All Army ROTC Scholarships are for tuition and fees, books and supplies for the duration of the scholarship. Recipients also receive a tax-free subsistence allowance of $250 - $400 per month for up to ten months of each academic year.   • The Abigail K. Hobson Memorial Scholarship Award

    Huntsville Branch of the American Association of University Women provides a cash award of $500 or more to a student in Family and Consumer Sciences who shows a need for financial aid, has an above average scholastic record, and has desirable personal qualities.   • Mozelle Davis Award

    Friends of Mozelle Davis, former assistant professor in the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences, provide a cash award of $200.00 or more to a student with an option in Fashion Design within the Area of Apparel, Merchandising and Design.   • The Eliza P. Patton Award

    Friends of the late Mrs. Eliza P. Patton, former associate professor in the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences, provide two annual scholarships of $125.00 or more to two students in Family and Consumer Sciences whose interests are Apparel, Merchandising, and Design and Nutrition and Hospitality Management where funds permit.   • The Wayne Hendrick Award
    Ms. Nancy Wayne Hendrick, member of the School of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Advisory Council, gives one annual scholarship of $1,000.00 to a student majoring in Nutrition and Hospitality Management. Ms. Hendricks has also endowed an additional scholarship for a deserving student in Nutrition and Hospitality Management.   • L. L. Crump Scholarship
    Academic merit, leadership potential, and evidence of responsible citizenship are the primary criteria for selection. Applicant must write a brief essay stating why he/she has chosen to study Planning and describe the contribution they hope to make to the profession. Students can apply for the scholarship in their senior year of high school, if they have committed to study planning at Alabama A&M or with their first year of study after declaring Urban Planning as their academic major.   • Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship

    Applicant must be a U. S. citizen. Classification must be enrolled in the Junior, Senior or Graduate year of college to receive funds. These funds are intended for students who wish to obtain funding toward a research-based transportation-related degree and who plan to enter the transportation profession after completing their higher level education.

  • Multicultural Scholarship
    Requirements include a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0, an average ACT score of 21 or higher, a letter of recommendation by high school teachers and counselors and a completed Multicultural Scholars application containing an essay outlining the student's desire to major in a given food and agricultural science major and future career plans.   • Louis Stokes Alabama AMP
    Scholarship that's available to undergraduate students who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and who major in one of the following: Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or Environment Science.   • Department of Energy Computational Science Scholarship
    Scholarships provide $3,000 toward college expenses, during each year of the program. Each year that a scholarship is received, obligates the student to a year of full-time employment at a DOE laboratory (at the discretion of DOE). Student must complete the Department of Energy (DOE) Computational Science Scholarship application. Student must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average and score at least 27 on the ACT or 1220 on the SAT.Back to Top
  • Athletic Scholarships
    These awards are made in the sports of football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, track & field, golf, softball and volleyball. The size of these awards varies.
