The Chinese Club set up at Alabama A&M University

       
         On October 17th 2016, late afternoon, decorated beautifully with Chinese culture elements, the conference room of Confucius Institute was hugging the setup meeting of the Chinese Club at Alabama A&M University. After more than a year of preparation, it is time to celebrate its establishment. The Chinese Club aims to provide the Chinese language teaching and Chinese culture promotion so as to act as a platform for exchange and cooperation for all those who are interested in learning Chinese language and culture.

Dr. Kozma Naka
         The adviser of the Chinese Club, Dr. Kozma Naka loves China and shows great interest in Chinese culture. For many times, together with the students of AAMU, he has visited Nanjing Forestry University, and other universities in China for academic exchange and research programs. He is also learning Chinese and his Chinese is really good.

5 board members
       At the setup meeting of the Chinese Club, 5 board members were elected. The president is Mr. Walter Kevin Sullivan, his Chinese name is Su Hua. Right now he is learning Chinese and he almost attends all the credit Chinese courses at AAMU offered by Confucius Institute at AAMU. He studies Chinese really hard.

         Present at the setup meeting were university teachers, university administrative staff , undergraduates, graduates, doctoral students and community residents as well. Many of them have studied Chinese, participated in or personally experienced Chinese cultural activities. More than 40 members have registered since the setup of the Chinese Club.

        As a sponsor, Confucius Institute at Alabama A&M University provided the place and the delicious Chinese food for the setup meeting of the Chinese Club.
