American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) - The national organization for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. ASHA grants national certification for practitioners and academic accreditation for university programs. They publish journals, host an annual convention, and promote legislative changes that could benefit our profession, among other activities. They also have an Employment Referral Service (call the Action Line, 1-800-498-2071).
National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) - They are based in Washington, D.C. and host an annual 3-day review course for the Praxis exam (NESPA). They also have an annual convention and publish a bi-annual, professional magazine, ECHO. They sponsor various activities and awards.
Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA) - They grant licenses for practitioners to practice in the state of Alabama.
Speech & Hearing Association of Alabama (SHAA) - They also have an e-group.
National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
