Student Alabama Education Association (SAEA)

The Student Alabama Education Association (SAEA) at Alabama A&M is a student organization of the Alabama Education Association.  We uphold the ideals of the AEA.  Visit www.myAEA.org

Membership is open to interested students! SAEA members enjoy a majority of the many benefits of AEA members, but at a much more reasonable rate per year.  The rate of membership is $35 per year which includes NEA (National Education Association) membership.  (The average teacher pays roughly $360/year!)  One remarkable benefit to SAEA membership is the liability coverage for student teachers (worth $1 million).

Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC)

We are a student chapter for the National Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).  CEC, a non-profit association, accomplishes its mission which is carried out in support of special education professionals and others working on behalf of individuals with exceptionalities,

by advocating for appropriate governmental policies, by setting professional standards, by providing continuing professional development, by advocating for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and by helping professionals achieve the conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice
