Willie L. Patterson III

Real Estate Division Chief

 
Biography:

Willie Patterson became Chief of the Real Estate Division of the Mobile District, Army Corps of Engineers in February 2004. He joined the U.S. Army of Corps of Engineers in Mobile District in 1986. Prior to this position, Patterson served as Chief of Realty Services Division, Real Estate Directorate, and later reassigned to Chief,Civil Division, Real Estate Directorate, USACE, Washington, DC. In addition he served as the Acquisition Program Manager for the North Atlantic Division (Brooklyn, NY- field office in Linthicum, MD) and Chief of Acquisition Branch of the Real Estate Division, New Orleans District.Patterson became a nationally recognized relocation expert as a result of relocating over 500 families over five years in Birmingham, AL as a part of the Village Creek Flood Control project. A native of Mobile, Alabama, Patterson is a graduate of Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University where he received a bachelor degree in accounting. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Alabama. Patterson earned his doctorate in public administration at the University of West Florida. His awards and honors include Commander's Award for Civilian Service, HQUSACE Real Estate Director's Awards, New Orleans City Council Proclamation and USSOUTHCOM Letter of Appreciation. Speaker Patterson is very active with Alabama A&M University having served over 20 years on the “Youth Motivation Task Force” and is now a member of the Advisory Council of the College of Business and Public Affairs. Patterson is the founding Pastor of the Redeemed Community Church in Mobile, AL (2009). He has served in numerous capacities in various communities including Boys and Girls Club  Advisory Board and little league coach (Birmingham, Mobile and New Orleans), Executive Board of the Dearborn YMCA and he is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated where he previously served as the Scholarship chair and a member of the audit team.
