AAMU Places 7th in HCASC

The AAMU team placed 7th overall out of the 48 total teams eligible to participate in the Sweet 16 of the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge recently in Torrance, Calif.

“Competition was tough this year,” said team member Monique Massey-HondaTeam2.jpg
Jefferson.  “It’s a rewarding program, and we won $5,000 for AAMU for our efforts.”

Team coaches are Dr. Barbara A. P. Jones (right), interim dean of the College of Business and Public Affairs, and Dr. Edward Bond, professor of history (not shown). In addition to Massey-Jefferson, the team includes Donald Hollis III of Charlotte, N.C.; Jajuan Juzang of Mobile, Ala.; and Courtney M. Lee of Baton Rouge, La.

The AAMU Honda team must focus on building a strong secondary team in light of the fact that the four-member squad is losing a senior this year and the well-rounded remaining three are currently juniors.
