President Andrew Hugine: “Outreach is key to recruitment”
Huntsville, Ala. ---- Last year, President Andrew Hugine, Jr., decided to hit the road. It was a way to take the Alabama A&M University experience to hundreds
of students across the state who are not able to come to the campus for a visit.
“The 2013 presidential tour was an excellent opportunity to showcase Alabama A&M University and the wonderful programs that we offer,” says Dr. Hugine.
The multi-city road trip was so successful that the University is set to repeat the experience. Beginning February 3, the 2014 Presidential Community Outreach Bus Tour will kick off with stops in Huntsville, Decatur and Anniston.
Dr. Hugine and other AAMU staff members will travel to 10 cities and meet with students from 39 high schools.
“The goal of the tour is to enable students to receive a personal invite from the University to attend and to see what a degree from Alabama A&M could mean for them,” according to President Hugine.
In addition, the tour will provide a venue for the various stakeholders of the university to expose the larger community to Alabama A&M. For more information on the bus tour, please refer to the attached schedule or call (256) 372-5245/5607.
