Huntsville, Ala. ---- Hundreds of Alabama A&M University students who have distinguished themselves academically will be the focus of an annual convocation held in their recognition on Thursday, April 4, at the T.M. Elmore Building at 12:30 p.m.
The 2013 Academic Honors Day provides an opportunity for the institution to recognize hundreds of student scholars who have achieved the distinctions of
Dean’s List, Honor Roll, Freshman Honors, President’s Freshman Award and the Presidential Medallion. Tribute is also paid to Honors Center Program participants; the members of the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, which recently held its national 75th anniversary meeting at AAMU; and students selected to ‘Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.’
Additionally, the convocation recognizes members of AAMU’s Honda Campus All-Star Challenge team, coordinated by coach and advocate Dr. Barbara A.P. Jones, as well as other special presentations.
Each of the four major academic colleges and the Department of Athletics will recognize an outstanding student in the respective area.
The annual program is coordinated by Dr. Kyla Pitcher, Honors Program Director; and a 10-person convocation planning committee.
