Huntsville, Ala. ---- It’s countdown time to one of “The Hill’s” most anticipated events of the spring term. On February 10, several couples will compete in what organizers call a “spectacular evening of dancing” beginning at 7 p.m. in the Ernest L. Knight Reception Center of the Alabama A&M University campus.
“Dancing with the President and First Lady” will feature couples performing diverse dance routines in a manner similar to the popular ABC “Dancing with the Stars” format. Proceeds will benefit campus beautification efforts, and a portion will be tax-deductible.
Among the participating couples (alphabetically) are: Mr. and Mrs. William (Brenda) Davis; Attorneys Mark and Angela Debro; Dr. Monica Dillihunt and Mr. Theodore Dixie; Pastor Troy and First Lady Kim Garner; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph (Nicole) Johnson; Dr. Larry McDaniel and Ms. Joann McGraw; Mr. and Mrs. Owens (Evelyn) Shaw; Miss Graduate Studies Ta'Sheika Short and Scott Ogwu; and Dr. Daniel Wims and Guest. President and First Lady Hugine will perform but will not be in the competition.
Attendees will cheer for their favorite couple and help support a good cause. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Ticket prices for the semi-formal event are $12 for students, $25 Singles and $35 Couples.
