Alabama's only certified orofacial myologist has published an important new work in the field of speech and language pathology (SLP).
Dr. Hope C. Reed, associate professor of communicative sciences and disorders in the College of Education, Humanities and Behavioral Sciences at Alabama A&M University, is the author of "The Source for Counseling for SLPs."
The new publication is a 157-page document that provides practitioners examples of the impact of disorders in various work settings, along with the corresponding tools practitioners need for dealing effectively with children and adults with communicative disorders.
The Woodville, Ala., native received undergraduate and master's degrees from Alabama A&M University and earned the Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology for Nova Southeaster University. The orofacial myology clinic at AAMU is the only such clinic located at a university in the world.
