I. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Fee: Enclose the non-refundable $25 application fee with the application. Please remit the application fee in money order, cashier's or certified check payable to Alabama A&M University.

II. ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

FRESHMEN STUDENTS.

Request that your high school principal or guidance counselor forward an official copy of your high school transcript to the Office of Admissions. All applicants for admission are required to take either the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and have test results sent directly to the Office of Admissions, Alabama A&M University, ACT Code #0002, SAT Code #1003.

TRANSFER/TRANSFER-RE-ADMIT STUDENTS.

Request that the Registrar of each institution which you have attended forward an official copy of your transcript to the Office Of Admissions. An official copy of your transcript(s) must be in our office by the deadline stated for applications in section I above, except from those school(s) in which applicant is currently enrolled. Transfer students are considered for admission only when they have been in good standing with the institution from which they are transferring. This means that they must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0, and not be on probation or suspension.

TRANSIENT STUDENTS.

Submit a letter of permission or good standing from the institution in attendance. Transient student must make application for admission each semester in attendance.

SPECIAL STUDENTS.

Applicants must show evidence of high school completion. Special students must make application for admission each semester in attendance. Students admitted to the University as special students are permitted to take a maximum of 12 semester hours before meeting requirements for regular student status.

RE-ADMIT STUDENTS.

Students who have been previously enrolled at the University, but have been absent for a period of one semester or more will complete the attached application.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FILE. ACCORDINGLY, APPLICANTS CANNOT BE ADMITTED UNTIL ALL ITEMS, AS STATED ABOVE, HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS.
