The Office of Retention and Academic Support (ORAS) invites you to the 4th Annual Retention Conference, Presentation of the AAMU Draft Retention Plan and Revisiting the First Year. This one-day intensive, internal conference will be hosted on April 25, 2008 in the LRC Multipurpose Room from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During last year’s conference, approximately 87 faculty and staff provided input into the development of AAMU’s proposed retention plan. However, at this year’s conference, you will have the opportunity to provide suggestions before the plan is finalized.
Ms. Lettie Raab, Dean of University College at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), will be the keynote speaker. She provides leadership for the award winning first-year program. The program has helped to increase both student retention and graduation rates at PVAMU.
This year’s retention conference has even more importance especially in the face of AAMU’s enrollment decline. Consequently, it is imperative that we embrace a student retention plan to increase retention and student success at AAMU.
