ALSAMP Scholars Program

 

What are ALSAMP Scholars?

 

ALSAMP Scholars are a select group of individuals that are known for their excellence in academic coursework. Each student is required to maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA and they must be pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

 

What is an ALSAMP Scholarship? 

  1. The ALSAMP Scholarship pays tuition and fees. 
  2. Scholarships will automatically be transferred to a students account in the Fall and Spring Semesters of each year. ALSAMP is not responsible for any additional fees. 

Program Requirements and Guidelines

 

  1. Scholars have weekly participation in ALSAMP Resource Center activities related to their academic major, including research, studying, tutoring, mentoring, and preparing for the GRE. 
  2. Scholars serve as facilitators and provide assistance with all ALSAMP/AAGEP campus workshops and conferences. 
  3. Scholars must maintain the status of a full-time student in good standing. 
  4. Scholars must maintain a grade point average of 3.0. 
  5. Scholars must major in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. 
  6. Scholars must serve a minimum of five (5) scheduled hours in the Drop-In Center each week during the academic year. 

Scholars have the opportunity to be selected to participate in research experience in their junior or senior year.
