Performance Music Scholarships

Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Scholarship (ROTC)
Awards are awarded on a competitive basis and are available for four, three and two years. All Army ROTC Scholarships are for tuition and fees, books and supplies for the duration of the scholarship. Recipients also receive a tax-free subsistence allowance of $250 - $400 per month for up to ten months of each academic year. The Abigail K. Hobson Memorial Scholarship Award
Huntsville Branch of the American Association of University Women provides a cash award of $500 or more to a student in Family and Consumer Sciences who shows a need for financial aid, has an above average scholastic record, and has desirable personal qualities. Mozelle Davis Award
Friends of Mozelle Davis, former assistant professor in the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences, provide a cash award of $200.00 or more to a student with an option in Fashion Design within the Area of Apparel, Merchandising and Design. The Eliza P. Patton Award
Friends of the late Mrs. Eliza P. Patton, former associate professor in the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences, provide two annual scholarships of $125.00 or more to two students in Family and Consumer Sciences whose interests are Apparel, Merchandising, and Design and Nutrition and Hospitality Management where funds permit. The Wayne Hendrick Award
Ms. Nancy Wayne Hendrick, member of the School of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Advisory Council, gives one annual scholarship of $1,000.00 to a student majoring in Nutrition and Hospitality Management. Ms. Hendricks has also endowed an additional scholarship for a deserving student in Nutrition and Hospitality Management. Human Development Award
Contributions from friends and alumni of the area are used to generate cash awards for two deserving students in HDF. General Mills, Inc. - Total Quality Scholarship

L. L. Crump Scholarship
Academic merit, leadership potential, and evidence of responsible citizenship are the primary criteria for selection. Applicant must write a brief essay stating why he/she has chosen to study Planning and describe the contribution they hope to make to the profession. Students can apply for the scholarship in their senior year of high school, if they have committed to study planning at Alabama A&M or with their first year of study after declaring Urban Planning as their academic major. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship
Applicant must be a U. S. citizen. Classification must be enrolled in the Junior, Senior or Graduate year of college to receive funds. These funds are intended for students who wish to obtain funding toward a research-based transportation-related degree and who plan to enter the transportation profession after completing their higher level education.

Multicultural Scholarship
Requirements include a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0, an average ACT score of 21 or higher, a letter of recommendation by high school teachers and counselors and a completed Multicultural Scholars application containing an essay outlining the student’s desire to major in a given food and agricultural science major and future career plans. Louis Stokes Alabama AMP
Scholarship that’s available to undergraduate students who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and who major in one of the following: Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or Environment Science. Department of Energy Computational Science Scholarship
Scholarships provide $3,000 toward college expenses, during each year of the program. Each year that a scholarship is received, obligates the student to a year of full-time employment at a DOE laboratory (at the discretion of DOE). Student must complete the Department of Energy (DOE) Computational Science Scholarship application. Student must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average and score at least 27 on the ACT or 1220 on the SAT.

Athletic Scholarships
These awards are made in the sports of football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, track & field, golf, softball and volleyball. The size of these awards varies. Alabama A&M University Scholarship Program
The Alabama A&M University Scholarship Program is designed to:
  • Atttract a more diverse student population both in and out of state
  • To provide financial assistance to those first-time entering students who have excelled academically throughout  their educational experience.

This scholarship pays for full tuition, course fees and room and board of current fee schedule and $1,000 for books and supplies per semester.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • ACT of 24 or SAT of 1650
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
  • Must have completed a Federal Financial Aid form (FAFSA)

  • Earn a minimum of 24 semester hours per academic school year
Provost Scholarship

Description Of Award
This scholarship award pays for full tuition, course fees and room and board of current fee schedule and $800 for books and supplies per semester.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • ACT of 23 or SAT of 1590
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
  • Must have completed a Federal Financial Aid form (FAFSA)

Dean Scholarship

Description Of Award
This scholarship award pays for full tuition, course fees and room and board of current fee schedule and $500 for books and supplies per semester.

  • ACT of 22 or SAT of 1530
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)

Level 1 Scholarship

Description Of Award
This scholarship award pays for full tuition, course fees, $1,100 towards room and board based on current fee schedule and $250 for books and supplies per semester.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.2
  • ACT of 21 or SAT of 1500
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)
  • Must have completed a Federal Financial Aid form (FAFSA)

Level 2 Scholarship

This scholarship award pays for full tuition, course fees based on current fee schedule per semester.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more)

State Scholarships

ALABAMA GI DEPENDENTS' EDUCATIONAL BENEFIT PROGRAM
Tuition, fees and book assistance to children and spouses of eligible Alabama veterans. Recipients may attend public institutions of higher education in Alabama. Students who are children or spouses of eligible Alabama veterans and who attend public post secondary educational institutions in Alabama must enroll as an undergraduate student. Application forms may be obtained from the Alabama State Department of Veterans Affairs, P.O. Box 1509, Montgomery, AL 36102-1509, or from any county veterans service officer. Phone 334/242-5077.

ALABAMA NATIONAL GUARD EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
An award to be used for tuition, educational fees and book/supplies for Alabama National Guard members to attend a public post secondary educational institution in Alabama. Awards, limited to $500 per term, and no more than $1,000 per year, is not based on need. Students who are active members in good standing with a federally-recognized unit of the Alabama National Guard. Participants may receive federal veterans’ benefits, but must show a cost less aid amount of at least $25. Applications are available from Alabama National Guard units. Funds are limited, so students who are Guard members are encouraged to apply early. Forms must be signed by a representative of the Alabama Military Department and the financial aid officer at the college or university the student plans to attend.

ALABAMA PREPAID AFFORDABLE COLLEGE TUITION PROGRAM
A contract to guarantee four years of fully paid undergraduate tuition at any public junior college, college, or university in Alabama; an amount equal to the average cost of Alabama tuition will be provided for students who attend a private, or out-of-state institution. Age limits apply to students enrolled in the program. Parents, grandparents, friends, or any other sponsor may purchase a contract to guarantee tuition payment for a determined number of credit hours for a baccalaureate degree. ALABAMA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DEPENDENTS OF BLIND PARENTS
An award to cover instructional fees and tuition at an Alabama state institution of higher learning for children from families in which the head of the family is blind and whose family income is insufficient to provide educational benefits. Students who are Alabama residents and from families in which the head of the family is blind and whose family income is insufficient to provide educational benefits for attendance at an Alabama post secondary institution. Students must apply within two years of high school graduation. ALABAMA STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Need-based, state/federal grant ranging from $300 to $2,500 per academic year. Awards are limited to undergraduate work. Undergraduate students who are Alabama residents attending eligible Alabama institutions. Nearly 80 Alabama institutions participate in the program. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This form should be filed early and is available from your high school guidance office or the financial aid office at the institution you plan to attend.

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
A grant award to be used for tuition, fees and board expenses to attend a public post secondary educational institution in Alabama. Awards are restricted to students who attend institutions having on-campus housing. Students who are sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters of veterans of World War I, World War II, Korea, or Vietnam and who are residents of Alabama. Applications are available from the American Legion Department Headquarters, American Legion Auxiliary, 120 North Jackson Street, Montgomery, AL 36104. Application deadline is April 1. SENIOR ADULT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
A free tuition program for senior citizens (persons aged 60 or over) that meet the admission requirements and attend public two-year post secondary institutions in Alabama. Contact the financial aid office at any public two-year post secondary educational institution in Alabama.

TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR ALABAMA TEACHERS
A state grant covering tuition and fees for approved technology courses at approved colleges or universities in Alabama. Students who are full-time regularly certified Alabama public school teachers enrolled in approved courses that incorporate new technologies in the curriculum.
