AAMU’s Office of Distance Education and Extended Studies (ODEES) works in collaboration with the academic schools to offer quality credit programs designed to position you at the forefront of technological and educational advances. ODEES is your portal to access the University’s programs, courses and services, anywhere, anytime, in a format consistent with your educational needs, work, family, lifestyle. In the process, you receive a college education equal to that of any traditional student. A wide selection of courses is available evenings, weekends and digitally.

ODEES is the clearinghouse for non-traditional academic credit awarded in several degree completion programs, which may vary by discipline. This non-traditional credit includes:

  • Credit to adults who possess a diploma, degree or certificate in the intended field of study from a regionally accredited technical or career college.
  • Credit to adults who possess 6 years of work-related learning embracing the intended field of study.
  • Credit for courses completed through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), personalized education plans (PEP), military programs, and American Council on Education (ACE) programs.
