AAMU a "Key HBCU"

Alabama A&M University alumnus and retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Patrick W. Burden and his Boeing colleagues toured the AAMU College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences on Thursday, July 15.

Burden, a two-star general who retired last year, now works in Global Sales and Marketing at Boeing.

Burden’s Boeing guests included Tommy Preston, Jr., the director of National Strategy & Engagement and Government Operations at Boeing. Preston, who is based in South Carolina, stated AAMU has been important to Boeing and a key HBCU it hopes to continue new partnerships with in the future.

AAMU also presented Burden with the STEM Day Award for his ongoing leadership and support of AAMU students and for serving as the keynote speaker during AAMU’s Annual STEM Day in March.
