Prior to assuming the position of dean at AAMU, Dr. Walton served as assistant and associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia.  During her 15 years of service as a faculty, chair, and assistant and associate dean at UDC, Dr. Walton was known for her leadership in accomplishing specific program accreditations and regional accreditation (Middle States Commission on Higher Education) at the University, and for her grantsmanship.
