Governor Robert Bentley, President of the Board of Trustees

Governor Robert Bentley is founder of Alabama Dermatology Associates and managed the practice's growth into one of the largest dermatology practices in the Southeastern United States, employing 30 Alabamians in the process.  As a small business owner, he understands that being a business owner is about more than simply providing services to clients; it is also about taking care of the employees who rely on you for their livelihoods, health insurance and retirement plans. 

In 2002, Bentley was elected to the Alabama State House Representatives from Tuscaloosa County with almost sixty-five percent (65%) of the vote.  In the State House, he established a record fighting for fiscal conservatism, strong traditional family values, and limited government.  In 2006, he ran unopposed for re-election to the State House.  During his time in Montgomery, he has served on the Education Appropriations Committee, the Boards and Commissions Committee, the Agriculture and Forestry Committee and has been a member of the Tuscaloosa County Legislative Delegation.  He also served as the Vice-Chairman of the Internal Affairs Committee. 

 

Mr. John O. Hudson III 

John O. Hudson III is an attorney who serves as vice president of public relations and charitable giving at Alabama Power Company.  He also serves as president of the Alabama Power Foundation, one of the state's largest corporate philanthropic organizations, and executive director of the Alabama Business Charitable Trust.  Prior to joining HudsonJohn.jpgAlabama Power, Hudson served as Senior Vice President of corporate diversity and public affairs at Regions Financial Corporation (RFC).  Before joining RFC, Hudson was engaged in the private practice of law, and he also served as president and chairman of The Hudson Group.   He is licensed to practice law in all Alabama state courts, as well as the United States District Courts of the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Alabama. 

 

Integrally involved in the community, Hudson serves as a member of the Board of Directors of several civic organizations.  He also serves as a distinguished member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, the Newcomen Society of Alabama, Kappa Alpha Psi Inc., and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, also known as the Boule’.  Moreover, Hudson serves on the boards of Miles College, Miles College School of Law and the Jefferson State Community College Foundation.  He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Alabama A&M University, is a cum laude graduate of Miles College School of Law, completed the Executive Accounting and Finance Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and has worked toward an LL.M. in taxation at the University of Alabama School of Law.  He and his wife, Nyya, a municipal court judge in Birmingham, have a 9-year-old daughter, Jordyn.

 

 

Mr. Chris Robinson

crobin.jpgTrustee Robinson is a native of Huntsville, Alabama and holds a bachelor’s degree in mass media arts-public relations from Clark-Atlanta University, and a master’s of science degree in management from Florida Institute of Technology. Additionally, Langevin Training Services in Ottawa, Canada certified him in training and leadership development.

Robinson's experience in human resources, public relations, strategic planning, and leadership development spans over 20 years. He has managed multiple leadership programs for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He currently serves in a leadership role for the Department of Defense, in the area of and workforce and leader development.

Trustee Robinson's community involvement is extensive and serves on several boards.  Currently he serves on the boards of Leadership Huntsville-Madison County, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Metropolitan Citizens Advisory Committee (Secretary), First Missionary Baptist Church Child Development Center and Academy, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Citizens Academy Alumni Association. He has led and served on boards of The ARTS Council, Huntsville Hospital Development Council, First Missionary Baptist Church Board of Trustees, and Public Relations of North Alabama.

His membership affiliations are with the Association of the United States Army (AUSA Redstone –Huntsville Chapter), Association for Strategic Planning, Society for Human Resource Management, Public Relations Council of North Alabama (PRCA), Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and (The Boule') Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Inc. 

 

Mr. James Montgomery

James D. Montgomery, Sr. is President/CEO of Aliza’s Cookies, Inc. Montgomery served as Systems Analyst, Management Analyst, Interim Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, General Manager, Chief Organizational Development Consultant and interim Comptroller for the Department of Army prior to retiring in 1994. He served eight years on the Anniston City Council and has been appointed to several national and international boards. 

 

Trustee Montgomery received his B.S. degree from Alabama A&M University and M.S. Degree from Jacksonville State University.   He is a graduate of the United States Air Force’s prestigious Military Comptroller School (Montgomery, AL) and the Army’s graduate level Organizational Effectiveness Program (Ft. Ord, CA).  He has attended Gestalt Institute located in Cleveland, OH.  He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

 

 

Mr. Andre Taylor

Andre’ Taylor earned a B.S. degree in journalism from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1973.  After graduation, he worked in radio and television around Alabama. Taylor joined the Alabama Gas Corporation in 1984 serving most recently as vice president of communications. In this capacity, he was the spokesperson for Alagasco and planned community affairs activities.

 

Taylor currently serves on the boards of The Lakeshore Foundation, The Alabama Veterans Memorial Foundation, The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama Foundation, and the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations. At The University of Alabama, he is a member of the Board of Visitors for the College of Communication and Information Services, a member of the President’s Cabinet, a Board Member of the Capstone Foundation, and is past President of the University of Alabama National Alumni Association.

 

In 1989, he was awarded the University of Alabama School of Communications’ Most Outstanding Alumni Award in Advertising and Public Relations. A Vietnam veteran, Taylor was awarded the Purple Heart for outstanding service to the country. He was also a feature personality in the inaugural edition of “Who’s Who in Black Birmingham”.  Currently, Taylor resides in Bessemer, Alabama. He and his wife Vivian have five children.

 

 

Dr. Jerome Williams

After graduating from Tuskegee University with a degree in animal science in 1968 and a doctorate of veterinary medicine in 1969, Dr. Jerome B. Williams moved to Chicago and worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  He moved to Birmingham in 1975 and established the Red Mountain Animal Clinic, where he continues to practice today. 

 

He is a national news reporter for VNN, the Veterinary News Network, and holds a license to practice veterinary medicine in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois and Louisiana.

 

 

Ms. Velma Tribue

Trustee Tribue heads the Velma J. Tribue State Farm Insurance Agency.  She is a graduate of both Alabama State University and The Ohio State University.

 

Tribue also serves on several boards such as the Dothan Chamber of Commerce Executive Board of Directors, the Wiregrass United Way Board of Directors, and the Southeast Alabama Medical Center's Women's Advisory Council.

 


Mr. Kevin Ball

Kevin is currently employed as the Executive Director of Arlington Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Mr. Ball is an experienced Healthcare professional with proven Project Management abilities which has supported company growth and development. Kevin has worked in the Healthcare industry for over 20 years.

 

 

His civic service includes his membership within the Alabama Nursing Home Association where he currently serves on the Executive Board and as a Regional Director. He has recently served as the Chair for both the Regional Advisory Board for AIDB (Alabama Institute for the Deaf & Blind), and Alabama Board of Examiners. Mr. Ball is a founding member of the Western Area Economic Development Council for the City of Birmingham and a sitting member of the University of Alabama Birmingham Healthcare Management Advisory Board.

Kevin also donates time to his Community by coaching Little League Football & Baseball with multiple Parks in the Birmingham Area. He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. 

    

Mr. Ball completed his Masters of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Long Term Care Administration. His Bachelors of Science was obtained in Business Administration at Alabama A&M.

 

Mr. Neal Morrison

Currently serving on the Governors Cabinet as the Commissioner of Alabama Department of Senior Services. He is also the Chairman of the Certificate of Need Program for the State of Alabama.

Neal is a former State Representative, who served for over 13 years. He worked in various positions with the Alabama Two Year College System and severed as interim President for Beville State Community College.

 

He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration for Athens State University and his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law.

He is married to Tracy and has two daughters and one granddaughter.

 

He is a lifetime member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders. 

 

Dr. H. M. Myles 

Dr. Myles serves the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine’s Student Affairs Office as Assistant Dean for Education Enrichment. Having earned her B.A. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Foreign Language, her M.A. in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University, and the Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in Oxford, MS., Dr. Myles’ professional career has spanned multiple positions and institutions.  For ten years at Louisiana State University, she served in positions of Assistant Coordinator for University Relations and Community Outreach; Principal Investigator of a funded Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) grant; and Academic Counselor and Veterinary Medicine Career Development Officer.

 

Prior to relocating to Mobile, AL, Dr. Myles served as Associate Director of the Office of Health Manpower Development and the Health Careers Access Program’s HCOP grant principal investigator at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  She was also Consultant for Project “Reach to Teach” in the Durham City Public Schools. At Pembroke State University she was Project Evaluator for their Health Careers Opportunity Summer High School Youth Program.

 

In January 1992, Dr. Myles joined the University of South Alabama, College of Medicine as Assistant Dean.  Among her duties have been serving as the College’s Minority Outreach Officer, Principal Investigator for a Health Careers Opportunity Program grant, Co-Director of the Community Engagement Core of the Medical School’s Center of Excellence, and adjunct graduate professor in the College of Education.  She has also served as Consultant and Contractor for the local cities of Mobile and Prichard, Alabama and on many community organization boards as the Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Metropolitan YMCA, Department of Health and Human Services, and United Way.

 

Dr. Myles is the founder and owner of Speeches, Etc., LLC, an  elevational speaking and consulting agency where she is marketed as a Steward of Humanism, a Merchant of Hope, and a Peddler of Common Sense.

Hattie Magee Myles, Ph.D. is a native of Summit, Mississippi where she graduated valedictorian of Eva Harris High School in Brookhaven, MS.  She is the mother of two adult daughters, Sheena and Kayla, and the grandmother of a 13 year–old grandson, Si’on.

Ginger Harper
Ginger Harper serves as Senior Vice President, Private Banking & Retail Market Manager for IBERIABANK in Huntsville, Alabama.   In her role, she is responsible for lending, investment strategies, trust and financial planning for the Huntsville market. Ginger focuses on providing comprehensive financial solutions and offers unparalleled service to high net worth clients as well as leading the Bank’s retail franchise in Huntsville.  While her primary role is leading Private & Retail Banking, she also handles the event planning and corporate sponsorships for the market, serves as the Community Reinvestment Act liaison and works to ensure IBERIABANK has maximum visibility in the community.

Ginger has over 15 years of financial services experience.  Prior to joining IBERIABANK, Ginger served as a Vice President, Private Banking Relationship Manager for RBC Bank.

Ginger attended and graduated from Athens State University where she obtained a B.S in Business Management. She is also a graduate of Leadership Connect Huntsville Class 7, Leadership Flagship Class 25 and the 2014 Alabama Leadership Initiative; obtained her series 6 & 63 licenses; completed the Life and Health Insurance Exam; and is also certified as a Registered Para Planner.

Ginger is a leader in the community. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Heart of the Valley YMCA, member of the Executive Committee for the Heart of the Valley YMCA, Board Chairman of YMCA Board Governance, Board President for HEALS Inc., and is involved in various other organizations.  In addition, she serves as a mentor to underprivileged children and other professionals in the community.
