A key Alabama A&M University administrator will be honored by a girls’ advocacy organization for service for her range of accomplishments.
Wendy Kobler, vice president of the Office of Marketing, Communication and Advancement at AAMU, has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2013
Women of Distinction Award by the Girl Scouts of North Alabama. Honorees will be recognized at the annual Women of Distinction event scheduled Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Huntsville Marriott.
Kobler’s background is extensive in corporate marketing and communications. Prior to joining AAMU, she was the marketing and public relations manager with a local firm and an entrepreneur with her own consulting company, Kobler Communications, working with many local and national high tech companies.
Nationally, Kobler has appeared as a marketing and branding strategist on “Fox News: Fox & Friends” and as a branding commentator on Atlanta’s Talk Radio WDUN-ABC Radio Network. She also has been featured in Business Week, Entrepreneur and Star Magazine.
Chosen by a committee of fellow community leaders and volunteers, a ‘Woman of Distinction’ is an outstanding leader, as well as a role model for Girl Scouts. Moreover, she is a philanthropist, an expert in her field and deserving of recognition for her accomplishments.
Past honorees have made extraordinary contributions in their professions or their communities, spurred innovation of unique programs and services, and served as lifelong advocates for promoting equity for women and girls.
“I am thrilled to have been selected for this great honor,” commented Kobler. She will join a distinguished group of honorees from Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan and Winston counties.
