A&M Readies for 14th Black Tie Gala

 

 

Huntsville, Ala. ---- Alabama A&M University will once again honor community leaders and businesses that have made significant contributions to University BlackTieLogoGeneric2.png
student life at the 14th annual Black Tie Scholarship Gala. The event takes place at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Von Braun Center-North Hall.  Additionally, a silent auction will be held at 5:15 p.m.

 

The 2014 theme is “Showcasing Tomorrow's Leaders.”  The evening’s entertainment will be provided by the Mississippi-based R&B band Velvet Soul.

 

Gala awards will be presented in recognition of achievements in the following categories:  Small Organization of the Year; Large Organization of the Year; Advocate of the Year; and the Diversity Award.  The Koinonia Award, which recognizes an individual and/or religious organization that has created a mutually beneficial partnership with Alabama A&M and/or its students, also will be presented.   

 

“Now in its 14th year, the Gala has raised approximately $2 million since its inception and has impacted the lives of numerous students,” says Archie Tucker II, AAMU's vice president for marketing, communications and advancement.  “This is sure to be an evening to remember.”
