Alabama A&M University is the host school to UAH as well as Athens State University ROTC Cadets. In our colleges, the ROTC program is an elective curriculum you take along with your other required college classes. It prepares you with the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in college and in life. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay you monthly spending cash (up to $5,000 a year for seniors) and our scholarship can fully fund your college tuition, room & board, and books ($1,200 per year), too. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, and when you graduate, you will not only commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army but you will have the potential to become a successful and highly competitive corporate leader. Graduates who chose to accept a job offer as commissioned Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army will embark on specialized training in an exciting Army branch. Army ROTC also provides a gateway to nursing students to pursue a career in the Army Nurse Corps with all the benefits that accompany such a prestigious profession.

With an ROTC foundation, you'll receive training on the skills necessary to lead a platoon and will earn a promotion to 1st Lieutenant ($58, 846) in less than two years and a promotion to Captain ($70, 925) in less than four years. Army Officers are expected to live according to a strict code of conduct. The code is represented by the bars you wear as an Officer. The choice is yours to make; a two-year ROTC program or a four-year ROTC program.
