LTC Johnnie L. Richardson II began his military career in 1985 when he enlisted after graduating from Hardee Sr. High School, Wauchula, FL. He attended the Infantry Basic Training course, Fort Benning, GA. and was selected to attend the Bradley Fighting Vehicle course before traveling to Fort Hood, TX, where he would serve as an Infantry Soldier. At the end of his initial active duty enlistment (1989), he deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, after which, he enrolled at Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Bch, FL. In addition to graduating with honors, he successfully completed the Army ROTC program as a Distinguished Military Graduate and was branched into Army Aviation. At the conclusion of flight school (1996), Richardson was assigned to 1-2 Aviation (Attack) Battalion, Camp Page, Korea. Following his assignments with: 159th Aviation Regiment and 51st Signal Battalion Fort Bragg, NC (1998-2001); 588th Engineer BN, 57th Signal BN and 89th MP Brigade Fort Hood, TX (2001-2005), he would then serve as the Assistant Professors of military Science, Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC from 2005-2007. After completing his Intermediate Level Education, Fort Leavenworth, KS, he served as the Executive Officer for the 447th Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, Ga. LTC Richardson’s current position is the Professor of military Science, Alabama A&M University, Normal, AL. He was recently promoted from major to lieutenant colonel (LTC).
