To be eligible for TRiO-Student Support Services the potential participant must:

• Be a citizen of the United States or meet residency requirements for Federal student financial assistance
• Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at the institution
• Have an academic need
• Be a potential first-generation college student; and meet an income criteria
• Be a potential first-generation college student; or meet an income criteria
• An individual with disabilities

Academic Needs Include:

• High School GPA below 2.5
• ACT score of 18 or Below
• SAT score of 900 or Below
• Placement in Transitional Courses
• Math placement below Math 112
• Placement in Reading 100 or 150
• Placement in English 100 and 100L
• Inadequate course preparation
• No career choice
• Undecided major
• Failed courses in high school/college
• Other

Participant Expectations

• Persons admitted to the program are expected to:
• Participate in program activities
• Meet with assigned program specialist weekly
• Attend tutoring sessions
• Attend workshops and seminars
• Participate in cultural events
• Remain in program until graduation
