About Financial Aid

In a perfect world, you should be able to choose a college based on your “fit” with it—the education it offers, how well it fits your goals and interests. You shouldn’t have to decide where you’ll get your education—if you get your education—based on costs.

We don’t live in that perfect world. But Alabama A&M University (AAMU) was founded as a land-grant college, committed to the idea of an affordable education. We’ll help you understand the process of paying for your education and we’ll help you access programs that make your education at AAMU possible.

What you make of your education is your return on investment. Is the cost of your education going to be worth the benefits reaped? Statistics on those who get a higher education as opposed to those who do not offer overwhelming evidence that you will be more employable, adjust to career changes better, live a longer, higher quality life and make a much higher income.

We do ask you to remember that financial aid, like all the rest of your finances, is a resource that needs to be governed carefully. Please review all the resources on this site and make your decisions wisely.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS!!!

Financial aid funds cannot cover the housing deposit nor the enrollment fee.
