The Alabama A&M University Inter-Residence Hall Council is an organization that was formed for students residing within the residence halls. The Council was founded in 1974. This organization was created as a medium for students to communicate with the university and the residence hall staff, to promote on-campus living, help maintain a suitable lifestyle for students, and create a positive living/learning environment.
The Inter-Residence Hall Council is a viable entity in student-university relations. The Council has invited upper administration to the residence halls to hear the needs of the resident-students. They host and participate in several events throughout the year to aid in the overall A&M campus experience.
