Solomon Palmer Hall III

An All-Female Residence

PalmerHall.jpgPalmer Hall III is a traditional four story, air-conditioned residence hall for women.  The residence hall has 89 rooms, which houses freshmen females in single and double occupancy rooms.  Palmer Hall is equipped with a student lounge, meditation room, laundry facilities, community bathrooms with individual shower stalls, cable television and telephone services.  Keeping with the traditional residence hall arrangement, all rooms are accessible off a main enclosed corridor.

Palmer Hall is named after Solomon Palmer, Jr., who was born in 1839.  Mr. Palmer served in many capacities during his lifetime; military officer, lawyer, superintendent, teacher, and a Blount County Rep. from 1865-67.  Palmer Hall bears the III because Palmer Hall has been erected on three occasions.
