Current Research

My general research interests involve various aspects of forest ecology, silviculture, and management. Some of my current research projects include:

    1. Relationship between forest diversity and productivity

    2. Effects of various degrees of overstory removal and fire frequency on tree regeneration, growth, community structure, and dynamics, as well as effects on the herbaceous species cover, richness, and diversity

    2. American chestnut (Castanea dentata) restoration

    3. Survival and performance of invasive species after high-intensity directed fire

    4. Vegetation dynamics as a result of deer exclosure
