Application Guidelines
Admission Criteria:
At the time of application, it is expected that interested students:
- Are currently enrolled or plan to attend Alabama A&M University
- Have maintained a 3.30 cumulative high school/college GPA. Rounded averages are not accepted (for example: 3.28 cannot be rounded to 3.3).
- Incoming Freshman only: Have a score of 23 or higher on the ACT or score of 1130 or better on the SAT.
- Have completed no more than 48 college credit hours and have three years remaining until graduation.
Required Documents / Application Checklist:
- Currently Enrolled Students: Priority Application deadline is March 1, 2024. The late deadline is May 15, 2024.
- New Incoming Freshmen / New Transfer Students: Priority Application deadline is March 15, 2024. The late deadline is June 1, 2024.
The following documents will be used to determine your eligibility and acceptance into the Honors Program. Upon review of your application packet and confirmation that you meet ALL of the requirements, you will be asked to participate in an interview.
- Application (online form)
- Essay (300-500 words) A brief autobiographical sketch; why you would like to participate in the Honors Program; the most important intellectually stimulating experience you have had; and a brief description of your career goals.
- Résumé
