Secondary Education Admission Requirements

​Students are formally admitted to the School of Education normally during their Junior year after the following requirements have been met:

• Completion of an application for admission to Teacher Education
• Pass criminal background check
• Passing score on all parts of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test (APTT)
• Completion of following courses with grade of “C” or better:
• FED 200
• SPE 201
• FED 212
• AGB 199, FED 215, INT 105, or MGT 213
• Maintain a GPA of 2.50 in three areas:
• Overall
• General Studies
• Professional Studies
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray
• Pass Speech/Language/Hearing   Screening
• Successfully complete Faculty Panel Interview
