The Rehabilitation Counselor Education program at Alabama A&M University provides the student with a general understanding of human behavior in relation to the medical, psychological, social, economic, and educational evaluation of individuals. Courses in interpersonal skills, counseling theories, medical aspects, job analysis, special populations, and evaluation and testing help the student gain this understanding.
The Rehabilitation Counseling program requires a 6 semester hour internship. The student will take 48 credit hours of rehabilitation courses. Other work may include a 12 to 15 hour or one semester commitment for specializing in blindness or deafness.
