$4,000 Stipend for 8 Weeks Plus

Research Experience with Electronic Devices and Systems

  • Carbon Nanotubes
  • Oxide Nanowires
  • Thermoelectrics
  • Non-Classical Junction Devices
  • Aging and Degradation


Facilities and Activities

  • Access to the state-of-the-art facilities for research projects
  • Use class 1,000 clean room
  • Use characterization laboratory
  • Research methodology and ethics training
  • Guidance on graduate career
  • Training on scientific writing and data analysis
  • Field trips
  • Social events


Who Can Apply

  • Must have completed sophomore in any of the Engineering or STEM Disciplines
  • Must be a valid Undergraduate STEM student
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must possess personal Laptop computer

  • Mail the following documents in a "single envelope" only via U.S. Postal Service:

     (a) Completed application form with original signature in Blue Ink

     (b) Original official transcript issued to the student

     (c) Two Letters of References from STEM discipline instructors

     (d) One page narration of career goals and/or objectives

     (e) Detailed description on research interests and experience, if any


Policies and Requirements

(a) Two checks of $2,000 each are contingent upon participation during 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each week (Monday - Friday);

(b) Once accepted in the REU-2013 program, candidate must mail written acceptance within three (3) working days;

(c) Withdrawal at anytime from the REU-2013 program does not assure any or prorated stipend; and

(d) Must bring Laptop computer and use during 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each week (Monday - Friday).
