Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS)

​The mission of the MSCS degree program at Alabama A&M University is consistent with that of the University and the College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences and is to provide provides a laboratory where theory is put into practice in a productive environment and prepare students for careers at the forefront of computer science research, teaching and industry.

 

Objectives (MSCS)
Upon successful completion of the MS program in Computer Science the students:

 

  1. will learn concepts and theory in the core computer science areas of Theory of algorithms, Object-Oriented Design and Programming, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Database Systems, and Software Engineering.

  2. will be equipped with programming skills using a programming language in the application of computer science concepts and theory and building a program or software system.

  3. will demonstrate the abilities to apply in an industry setting, the concepts and programming skills learnt in the class room from the computer science areas of Theory of algorithms, Object-Oriented Design and Programming, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Database Systems, and Software Engineering.
