The Honorable Judge Jameria Johnson Moore

The Honorable Judge Jameria Johnson Moore began her journey earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Mathematics in 1990. Continuing her education, she earned an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law.
She embodies what it means to break barriers and set standards becoming the first Black female engineer in the Project Engineering Department at James River Corporation, and the first Black female engineer in the Civil Structural Department at BE&K Engineering. At the Alabama Department of Transportation, she led the fight for equity and opportunity for African American women in engineering and technology.
Her impact of firsts extended to the courtroom, where in 2024 she made history as one of the first Black Probate Court Judges in Jefferson County. She has also served as a Municipal Judge for the City of Birmingham and was recognized among the National Top 100 Black Lawyers. Judge Moore is an active member of the Alabama Probate Judges Association, the Alabama Bar Association, and the National Bar Association.
Beyond her career, Judge Moore leads with service as President of the Valley Pearls Service Foundation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The Links, Incorporated, founder of Saturday Solutions, a program guiding youth in conflict resolution, Board of Directors for STREAM Innovations, the National Congress of Black Women and the AAMU Magic City Metro Alumni Chapter.
Her commitment to AAMU is unwavering in recruiting students, raising more than $100,000 in scholarships, and proudly supporting the Marching Maroon and White Band, the oldest HBCU band.
