Join Alabama Extension’s animal science team at Alabama A&M University (AAMU) for its second Alabama Goat and Sheep Summit on Saturday, September 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Winfred Thomas Agricultural Research Station, 372 Walker Lane in Hazel Green, Alabama.
Topics will include:
- Connecting to public and private funding sources
- Breeding and reproduction issues
- Managing parasites and other diseases among sheep and goats
- Using goats to control understory vegetation in forestland areas (research update)
The Alabama Goat and Sheep Summit will feature exciting activities and exhibits by partners and Alabama Extension staff, including a farm tour, the Mobile STEM Lab, a petting zoo, and a hayride. It’s also a great time to network with other goat and sheep producers in the region.
