Alabama A&M University began the virtual Work-it Wednesday Speaker Series in the fall of 2021 as a result of the world transitioning to virtual services. The University has transitioned back to offering in-person professional development workshops but this speaker series remains virtual for our students/alum and recruiters. The workshop series is for all majors, and all classifications and is open to our alum as well. The topics covered in this workshop series are broad so anyone can gain insight into making the best professional decisions. Workshop topics include career, professional and personal development programs for all phases of a student's journey.
Workshop topics provide practical advice from professionals with the goals to:
- Foster the creation of professional networks and resource building
- Increase knowledge base on career opportunities
- Identify strategies to make a candidate a stronger applicant
- Discuss soft skills needed to gain and retain employment
