
Are you interested in learning how to start and maintain a community garden? If so, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (Home Grounds Team) invites you to attend the Spring 2025 Community Garden Expo that will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• The Rules: Zoning, Liability Protection and By-Laws
• The Big Picture: Siting (Sun, Water, Grade, Access, Outbuildings)
• Site Preparation (soil testing and amendment, infrastructure)
• Garden Design
• Maintenance: Fertilization, Pest, and Disease Management
The Spring 2025 Community Garden Expo will feature exciting activities, including fruit tree giveaways and a tour of The People's Patch, an urban farm near the AAMU campus that provides fresh produce to Madison County residents. It's also an opportunity to network with other gardeners and community garden organizers.
