DEA National Drug Take Back Day
Tossing unused prescription and over-the-counter medications in the trash is easy but harmful to the environment. While it may be hard to believe, drugs that end up in public landfills can make their way into our water systems and contaminate our drinking water. But they don’t have to!
Alabama Extension at Alabama A&M University (AAMU) is partnering with other organizations for the “National Medication Take-Back Day” drive on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to clean out those medicine cabinets and dispose of drugs properly at three locations in Madison County:
- Huntsville Public Safety Complex - 815 Wheeler Avenue, Huntsville, AL
- Madison City Hall - 100 Hughes Road, Madison, AL
- CVS-Meridianville - 12275 U.S. Highway 231, Meridianville, AL
Be sure to remove all medicine labels before dropping off unwanted medication.
