Bulldog Alerts

Alabama A&M University places the security and safety of its students, employees, and visitors as its highest priority. To keep you informed the University has implemented the myBulldog Alert multi-platform notification system. The system can notify you via telephone, cell phone, text message (SMS) to a mobile device, or by email of emergencies, severe weather notifications, campus closings, school-opening delay information, and other important announcements.

AAMU offers:

• Emergency Alerts - Receive urgent notifications in the event of an emergency on all of your devices.
• Outreach Alerts - Receive important, non-emergency, outreach messages about the community.
• Student Account Services - Receive notifications regarding refunds, payroll, student accounts, financial matters related to registration and enrollment.
• ITS Alerts - Receive Information Technology Services (ITS) notifications on planned outages, maintenance, downtime, etc.

Subscribe to Bulldog Emergency Alerts

By default, all faculty, staff and students are automatically enrolled to receive emergency alerts based on your AAMU email and primary number provided in Self-Service Banner. The Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110 315) requires institutions to inform their respective campuses of conditions posing a threat to life, safety, and security so that members of the community can take necessary precautions to protect themselves.

You will need to maintain this information by logging into Self-Service Banner and updating your personal information.

Updating Personal Information for Emergency Alerts

Students, Faculty and Staff will be able to update their personal information via Self-Service Banner using the steps below:

1. Log into Self-Service Banner
2. Select the “Personal Information” tab
3. Update address, phone, and email address

Opt-Out Options

You may freely subscribe (and unsubscribe) to any non-emergency alert group; however, you cannot opt-out of receiving Emergency Messages via SSB or the Alerts Portal. If you do not wish to receive emergency alerts from the Alert Notification System, you will have to opt-out of the alert system completely. To completely opt-out call 1-855-502-7867.

To opt out of non-emergency alerts or unsubscribe an alert preference, visit the myBulldogAlerts Portal. You may also opt out directly from your media device. Opt out of text messages by texting STOP to 23117 or 63079. To opt out of a phone number you may dial 1-855-502-7867.

Registering for Bulldog Non-Emergency Alerts

To register additional email addresses and phone numbers and/or to sign up for non-emergency alerts provided by the University, please visit the myBulldogAlerts Portal and register (or click the logo on the upper right side of this page).

Managing Non-Emergency Alert Subscriptions

To manage your account setting, subscriptions and media preferences, review instructions in the Logging in to myBulldog Alerts guide. Select message group(s) that are available on your screen that you would like to subscribe to. You must select "Outreach" alerts in order to receive additional non-emergency alerts.

Deactivation

Your account and subscription(s) will be deactivated if you leave the university; that is, if you are no longer an employee or registered student of AAMU. You subscription may also be ended if it has been determined (after due process) that you have intentionally abused or harmed the system in some way.
