Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
A native of Amory, Mississippi, Tawana Greene is a two-time graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned the B.B.A. in Business Information Systems (2000) and Masters of Science in Instructional Technology (2001).
AVP Greene has 20 years of Higher Education experience. She began her career at the University of Arkansas at Monticello as an Area Coordinator in Residence Life and held several other positions in Student Affairs, TRIO, and Enrollment Management. Before joining AAMU, Mrs. Greene served as Director of Admissions and Coordinator of New Student Orientation at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Greene has served on various university, state and regional boards. She is a member of the Association for Orientation, Transition and Retention in Higher Education (NODA), Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO), and just completed a three-year term as Secretary of the Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (ArkACRAO).
