About the College
The College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences is organized into three departments, each headed by a department chair:
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Mechanical and Civil Engineering and Construction Management
The BS degree in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, the BS degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the BS degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET.
Undergraduate degrees are offered in civil engineering (BSCE), electrical engineering (BSEE), mechanical engineering (BSME), construction management (BS), computer science (BSCS). Graduate degrees are offered in computer science (MS), construction management (MS), materiel engineering (MEng) and industrial technology (MS). In collaboration with the College of Education, the College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences offers a variety of certified and non-certified teaching programs and the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Physics program is ranked among the top ten nationally in the awarding of graduate degrees to African Americans.
