Solomon Palmer Hall III

Female Residence

Palmer Hall, a four-story air-conditioned residence hall and home to nearly 180 first-year freshman female students, offers single and double occupancy rooms. Palmer Hall is equipped with a student lounge, meditation room, free laundry facilities, community bathrooms with individual shower stalls, and cable television. (No refrigerators are allowed.)

History

Palmer Hall is named after Solomon Palmer, Jr., who was born in 1839. Mr. Palmer served in many capacities during his lifetime; a military officer, lawyer, superintendent, teacher, and a Blount County representative from 1865-67. Palmer Hall bears the “III” because the hall has been erected on three occasions.
