Banner 9 Self Service

We are pleased to announce that during the Fall 2024 semester, the Department of Information Technology will be implementing the latest upgrade to our Banner system. The new Banner Self-Service 9 is designed to serve as a comprehensive portal for faculty, staff, and students, offering streamlined access to essential services such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Human Resources, and Finance.

  • New Student & Employee Dashboard: Discover a revitalized interface with a focus on user-friendliness. Employees can swiftly access employment details and manage finance-related tasks, such as requisition submissions. Students will find planning ahead easier with direct views into the course catalog, class schedules, and registration statuses.

  • Student Self-Service

    Your Student Profile consolidates all your information and academic progress in one convenient view. Advisors share this view, enabling them to provide personalized advice to help you make informed academic decisions.

    The Registration tool is designed to help you prepare for current and future registration. You can create multiple scenarios and plan ahead with ease. This feature integrates seamlessly with Ellucian Degree Works, providing advisor access and registration planning via the Student Education Planner. Key features include:

    • Course Catalog: View all courses offered by your institution.
    • Class Schedule: Plan the best schedules to meet your needs.
    • Registration Status: Check for holds, priority registration details, and other key information.
    • Plan Ahead: Determine the courses required for graduation.
    • Manage your institutional charges, view, and pay bills, and keep track of your tax documents through the Student Account feature.
    • View Grades allows students to easily view your academic progress. Advisors and faculty can also access this information to better support your academic journey.
    • View your unofficial transcript and request official transcripts through the Transcript Management feature.
    • Enrollment Verification allows students to request enrollment verification for third parties with ease.
    • Degree Audit allows students to monitor their academic progress via Degree Works, helping you plan for future terms.
    • Students can submit applications for graduation through the Graduation Application feature.

  • Faculty and Advisor Self-Service
    • Attendance Tracking allows faculty to easily document student attendance with our user-friendly tool. This feature improves accuracy and saves time for registrars and financial aid officers.
    • Class Roster allows faculty to review students’ academic profiles and schedules, communicate via email, print class rosters, and more. This feature provides faculty members with comprehensive access to their class information.
    • Faculty Grade Entry allows faculty to enter assignment grades and post midterm, final, and incomplete grades directly from your mobile device. The application can automatically compute final grades, and you can import grades from existing spreadsheets or your learning management system for added convenience.
    • Advising Functionality allows advisors to view students’ academic details in a succinct profile view, providing timely academic insights. This functionality is complemented by Ellucian Degree Works™, which allows advisors to link degree auditing information and propose courses for their advisees seamlessly.

  • Finance Self Service
    • With My Finance Query, you can gain quick insights into spend analysis through an intuitive, visually appealing dashboard. This feature also allows you to save favorite queries and share them for collaboration.
    • My Journals enables users to process any type of journal voucher, whether for budget, encumbrance, or actual transactions. You can copy, reverse, and delete journal vouchers, as well as view, search, and manage them using an intuitive dashboard.
    • My Requisitions speeds up the procurement of products and services with an updated, user-friendly experience. Users can view their requisitions at all stages through a comprehensive dashboard.
    • The Approvals feature provides an at-a-glance view of finance documents in your approval queue, making it easier to manage approvals efficiently.
    • Budget Development equips administrators with the necessary tools to develop an operating budget.

  • Employee Self-Service
    • Employee Profile offers an intuitive entry point for employees to access their personal, employment, and job-related information.
    • Labor Redistribution provides essential tools for initiating a labor redistribution in Employee Self-Service, routing for approval, and maintaining history for audit purposes.
    • Position Description is a time-saving functionality for creating, editing, standardizing, routing, and approving position descriptions in Banner Human Resources, making posting on multiple job-search sites faster and more efficient.
    • Effort Reporting offers an efficient methodology for reporting on effort charged to grants and facilitating A-21 compliance. (For clients in the United States only.)
    • Benefits and Deductions enables users to access, enroll, and change their benefit data, including beneficiaries and dependents.
    • Tax Pages allows employees to access their year-end earnings statements in Canada and the U.S.
    • Faculty Load and Compensation allows faculty members to review the summary and detail of their compensation online.
    • Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs) accommodates a more efficient approval signature process for centralized and decentralized HCM operations like hiring, salary changes, and terminations.
    • Salary Planner allows authorized administrative users such as HR managers and department heads to evaluate, plan, and create budgets for any fiscal year. It also allows for mass salary changes any time during or prior to the fiscal year.
    • Campus Directory allows users to display contact information, such as e-mail address and phone number, within your institution.
