Banner 9

Banner 9 is a major upgrade to the Banner System. It provides a completely new and up-to-date look and feel and is also easily compatible with all mobile devices! The new user interface provides improved accessibility for all users. Banner 9 also eliminates the need for a Java applet for end users, drastically expanding the browsers and platforms that can now access the software. Banner 9 is composed of Banner Admin (formerly Banner INB) and Banner Self-Service.

Information Technology Services will be upgrading Banner 8 to Banner 9 throughout the 2017 and 2018 calendar years with completion scheduled at the end of Fall 2018. Banner 8 will no longer be supported from January 1, 2019, meaning no new software upgrades, patches or fixes.

BANNER 9 SIGN-IN INFORMATION

The Banner 9 sign in will be your firstname.lastname (without the @aamu.edu). Your password will be the same as your email password.

BANNER 9 NAVIGATION

In the Banner 9 Administrative Applications all of the data, processes, and form names from Internet Native Banner (INB) remain the same. The training required for Banner 9 Administrative Applications is an introduction to the new navigation as well as hands-on time with the system to get used to the new interface.

Information Technology has been working with the functional areas to determine the best way to get each area familiar with Banner 9 Administrative Applications. A good first step is to watch the Ellucian navigation video. This Banner 9 Navigation video has been produced by Ellucian to familiarize people with the new Interface in Banner 9.

Announcements & Updates

Sept. 7, 2018: We are happy to announce the launch of the Production environment for Banner 9. B9 is now fully deployed.

July 18, 2018: The ITS department is proud to announce that we have implemented the Test environment for Banner 9.

Current users of INB Banner can now access and test Banner Admin, using your regular username and password. Banner 8 and Banner 9 will run simultaneously (for now) to allow end users time to familiarize themselves with the new environment. We encourage users to use Banner 9 as much as possible, as Banner 8 will no longer be supported in 2019.

If you have any issues accessing Banner 9 or experience any other issues, please submit a ticket with the helpdesk (256) 372-4357 and ITS will assist you as quickly as possible.
